Sometimes the right music isn’t something you find. It’s something you create. You might need a song that moves with your edit, a distinctive sound for your brand, or a score built around your story. Musicbed produces it with you.
Musicbed now produces original music for film, TV, and advertising. Send us a brief, and our team will develop the sound, arrangement, and creative direction with you, and manage production through final delivery. The finished piece can be an original song, a cover, a custom score, main titles, or an adaptation of a song that’s already released.
We’ve spent more than a decade working with filmmakers, brands, and agencies. Now, Original Music puts that experience to work on your project.
When Original Music Makes Sense
Licensing and original music work together, and many projects use both. Clients come to us for original music when:
- You need music made for their brand. A song, theme, or score written for one campaign or built to carry across several.
- You want music shaped around your vision. Our team develops the sound, arrangement, and creative direction with you, around your project’s needs.
- The music has to stay consistent with your brand. New music is written to sit alongside the sound your work already has.
- The music has to follow the picture. A score or song written to your cut, its pacing, and the moment the voiceover lands.
- A song you love needs to change. Some songs can be adapted through custom lyrics, arrangements, instrumentation, or duration. Customization depends on the song and requires approval.
- The song doesn’t exist yet. The script calls for something no one has written.
- You want one partner from brief to delivery. One team handles everything between your brief and final delivery.

How It Works
1. You send the brief. Tell us about the project, the creative vision, and what you need delivered. A full treatment works. So do a few paragraphs and a rough cut. We’ll also ask where the music will run and when you need it, because usage and timeline set the budget and schedule.
2. We partner with you on the creative approach. Our team works out what the music has to do in your edit: its sound, its role in the story, and how it should land. That direction shapes everything that follows, including who writes it.
3. We manage production. We bring in the artist or composer whose writing fits the approach, then run the project as ideas become demos, revisions, and a finished piece shaped around your feedback.
4. We deliver. You receive the agreed deliverables, with licensing for your project covered in the same process.
See Original Music in Action
Nike’s “You Can’t Stop Us,” made with Wieden+Kennedy, cut more than 4,000 pieces of footage into 72 split-screen sequences, narrated by Megan Rapinoe. The music had to move with an edit like that.
Musicbed brought in Cowboys in Japan to re-record part of their song “Daylight” for the cut. That’s customization: an existing song reworked until it follows the picture.

Musicbed artists have also written original songs for Adidas and Samsung, a custom score for Ford’s “Bronco Built Wild,” and main titles for Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls.
